Druktebeeld | Gemeente Amsterdam

Druktebeeld, a responsive parking-insights application that made complex occupancy data clearer for users and easier for the team to maintain.

Frontend DeveloperJanuary 2022 – January 2023
Druktebeeld | Gemeente Amsterdam frontend project interface

Overview

I extended Druktebeeld, an existing Vue.js application used to present parking-garage data. As the only developer working full-time on the project, I provided continuity across frontend implementation, UX improvements and engineering quality.

The problem

The existing application needed better responsive behaviour, clearer data visualisation, predictable shared state and stronger safeguards for future changes.

What I built

I improved the responsive interface and navigation, customized Chart.js visualisations, introduced Vuex for shared state, preserved active views through URL parameters and added Jest, Cypress, Husky and CI/CD checks.

Tech stack

  • Vue.js
  • Vuex
  • TypeScript
  • Chart.js
  • Jest
  • Cypress

Result

Users could interpret parking information more easily, retain their selected view after refreshing and navigate a clearer responsive experience. The team gained more predictable state management and earlier feedback on code quality.
